Horror is one such genre where filmmakers bank upon hugely to get success. ‘Mumbai 125 KM’ is the latest horror film starring Karanvir Bohra, Veena Malik, Vedita Pratap Singh, Joey Debroy and Vije Bhatia. Directed by Hemant Madhukar, this film has hit the theaters today. Let’s now see how this film is.
    Story:-
A bunch of five friends start their journey to Mumbai to celebrate their new year’s eve. During their journey, they face many untoward incidents which scare them to the core. A scary ghost (Veena Malik) goes on a killing spree, and starts killing each of the youngsters.
Who is this ghost ? Why is she killing these friends? Will any of them escape from the evil clutches of the ghost? That forms the rest of the story.
    Positive Points:-
All the young actors have done a decent job with their performance. But definitely they need to work on their emotions, as they end up overacting in few scenes. Veena Malik provides the much needed glamour to this horror flick. Her skin show will definitely raise the temperatures. Most of the scenes in the first half keeps the audience on the edge of their seats, as they are very well designed. The entire first half of the film is decent with a gripping screenplay.

    Negative Points:-
As in any other horror flick, this film too has routine scenes and predictable story. The director might have been inspired by many horror films and this is the reason we can find similar scenes that have come in mostly RGV films. You can also find the glimpses of the film ‘Final Destination’ when each one from the group starts getting killed.
There is a overdose of love making which does not go well with the family audience. Veena Malik’s performance as a ghost is good, but her makeup, dressing and the way she was flown up in the air looks nonsense. After a gripping first half, director has lost out on the screenplay and ended up making it below average climax.
    Technical Aspects:-
Cinematography is just about decent as there is nothing much to showcase. The filmmakers promoted that the entire movie was shot with stereoscopic 3D cameras, but there is not much difference in the final product. Songs in the film are just about average and so is the background score. Though the editor has done a decent job, he should have taken more care on the second half.
Coming to director Hemanth Madhukar, he, wrote the complete first half with all the necessary ingredients required for a horror flick but lost his grip in the second half.
    Outcome:-
On the whole, ‘Mumbai 125 KM’ is just a routine and ordinary film. Except for a few horror scenes in the first half, and Veena Malik’s skin show, there is nothing much to watch out for. Those have a niche for horror films can give it a shot, but the rest can avoid it safely.

The project is said to be at an early stage, and Google is reportedly still figuring out how to make the picture appear seamless when the modular parts fit together. The company is facing challenges in making the borders between each module disappear to create one continuous image.

Narendra Modi Motivating Speech to Nation for the first time on radio

  • K S L Narayana

  •                                                          On 3rd Oct 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the countrymen over radio for the first time, giving an inducement about how to shed grief and use their skills for betterment and prosperity of the country.

Promising to make the radio broadcast a regular affair, Modi invited ideas from the citizens while noting that he had been receiving a number of suggestions since it was announced that he would be addressing the nation over radio. In his 15-minute address, Narendra modi gave motivating speech to nation recognize their capabilities and use them

Narendra Modi Motivating Speech  to Nation:

"You know, our scientists have undertaken the Mars mission successfully at minimum expenses. There is nothing lacking in our capabilities. We only have forgotten our strengths. We have forgotten ourselves as if we have become despondent. My brothers and sisters, this cannot be"

As a short story of Swami Vivekananda about how a lion brought up by sheep rediscovered his prowess after coming in touch with another lion. “We need to recognize our internal strengths, If we move ahead with self-respect and right identity, we will emerge victorious".

"125 crore Indians are blessed with immense skill and strengthen. All we need to do is to understand our strengths"

As Mahatma Gandhi birth anniversary tribute which was celebrated yesterday, “Use at least one khadi product may it be a handkerchief or even a bed sheet, It will benefit the poor” .
I have received some suggestions through emails, which included that skill development should start from 5th Standard, special programmes for specially-abled children to motivate them, more dustins, ban on polythene and making easier the registration of small scale industries.
If you have ideas and actual incidents which are constructive, do share with me,"Together let us serve India and take our Nation to newer heights".

Coming  to the specially-abled children, they should be a part of the development journey as the nation belongs to everyone."They are the responsibility of not only their families but the entire society,"
I Appreciate the suggestion for special programmes for the specially-abled children, When I was Gujarat chief minister we began Khel Mahakumbh for specially-abled athletes and I myself would go and see the sports.

I would consider the suggestion for making it easier for registration of small scale industries. On inauguration of  'swachh bharat' campaign I had invited participation of nine people, each of whom should rope in nine more, who will involve nine more and so on, to create a chain.

"Let us pledge to affirm to remove dirt. Yesterday we began the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan & I want you all to join this Abhiyaan"

NASA Technology:Secure Indian farmers from risks says-Ramakrishna Nemani

  • kiran

  •                A senior Indian earth scientist from National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Ramakrishna Nemani, hailing from Hyderabad, has modified and adapted NASA technology to secure Indian farmers from risks of climate change like floods and droughts and ensure that crop insurance reaches the deserving farmer.
Dubbed as Terrestrial Observation and Predicting System (TOPS), the project recently received 15 months extension, after testing it in real world conditions for the past two years on pilot basis, by the Maharashtra government. The earth scientist is also working with local authorities here to implement a similar system for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The NASA researcher has brought together a system of collecting weather and climatic data through satellite remote sensing, ground weather stations, human inputs and using climatic forecasting and ecosystem models to give risk determination of crop insurance, crop assessment, sampling of crop yield, early assessment of crop loss, categorising the risk regions and more significantly forecasting the climatic conditions in such zones.
“The idea is to make sure that we provide flawless scientific evidence so that insurance goes to the deserving farmer who has suffered crop loss and not to a farmer who has a fully functioning borewell, but continues to claim insurance by using devious measures,” the NASA earth scientist says.
The earth scientist, who visits Hyderabad and Maharashtra at least once a month from United States, is a firm believer in crop insurance as the only way to help farmers tide over climate disasters. “Climate related risk to agriculture is here to stay and insurance provides best way to mitigate it. Why can’t we bring efficiency into the system that will insure every farmer?” he asks.
“In NASA, everyday we study weather patterns, droughts, rains etc of planet earth. But, it has always been my aim to apply and adapt this technology by integrating satellite and climatic data to predict the yield of crops for Indian farmers. What we have implemented is a project that uses data to make sure that the farmers are protected from severe climatic patterns like drought, floods etc by bringing efficiency in crop insurance system,” he says.
Along with his team, the researcher has collected 30 years of climatic data in 20,000 villages of Maharashtra, current climatic conditions between 2012 and 2015, historical crop yields of bajra, wheat, soyabean and jowar in the past one decade. “We have adapted NASA models that can forecast climatic disasters for the benefit of farmers,” he said. It turned out to be a humdinger of a contest between the two sub-continental foes as both India and Pakistan refused to give an inch to each other in the entire 60 minutes of a keenly contested tussle.
It took a shoot-out to determine the winner as both the teanm were locked 1-1 in the regulation time of the summit clash at the Seonhak Hockey Stadium.
Pakistan started brightly and broke the deadlock as early as the third minute of the match through Muhammad Rizwan Sr before Kothajit Singh (27th) equalised for India in the second quarter. The two teams continued their battle after change of ends but failed to breach the rival citadels inspite of creating numerous scoring chances, forcing the match into the shoot-off.
In the one-on-one shoot-off situation, Akashdeep Singh, Rupinderpal Singh, Birendra Lakra and Dhramvir Singh scored for India, while Manpreet Singh turned out to be the fall guy.But all credit to Indian custodian and vice-captain P.R. Sreejesh, who produced breathtaking saves in the shoot-off to deny Pakistan's Abdul Haseem Khan and Muhammad Umar Butta.
Muhammad Waqas and Shafqat Rasool scored the goals for Pakistan.

By virtue of the coveted gold medal here, India have earned a direct qualification to Rio Olympics, while Pakistan will have to go through the qualifiers. The last time India won the gold medal was in the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok.
